About the Initiative

The Gabriel Pursel Initiative is a grassroots outreach and investigative project launched by RightNowViews.com to honor the memory of Gabriel Michael Pursel—who tragically died alone in an alley in Los Angeles at 28.

Gabe was exceptionally hard-working, waking up at 6:00 AM inside a tent just to shower at a youth center and head to work. Like anyone else, he wanted simple, human things: a safe apartment, a good job, a car, and pets. But when he turned 25, he hit the "Aging-Out Cliff"—a systemic flaw where young adults are abruptly dropped from youth support services directly into LA’s overburdened adult shelter grid without a safety net.

This initiative exists to bridge that gap: providing direct, tangible survival items to those on the pavement, navigating individuals directly into active recovery pathways, and using investigative reporting to expose institutional mismanagement.

We build and distribute Gabriel Care Packs directly to individuals living on the streets of Los Angeles with $0 corporate overhead. Every pack contains immediate survival essentials:

We use on-the-ground reporting to shine a light on the severe policy gaps facing young adults aged 25–29 who age out of transitional youth programs and are left to navigate complex street environments alone.

Millions in municipal funding flow through city bureaucracy every year, yet street conditions remain dire. We contrast passive municipal programs with 100% direct, transparent, grassroots action—demanding real accountability for how public funds are spent.
